Stan Lee

I loved Marvel comics growing up. Hell, I still like ’em. I’m not sure what the first one read was: Maybe Spider-Man or Silver Surfer reprints in TV21 or possibly Amazing Spider-Man #92 “When Iceman Attacks.” Sure I read the British comics (getting back into them now), but when Mighty World of Marvel came out featuring the Hulk, Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four I was hooked. (My parents helped me with the Hulk iron-on sticker in the first issue).

I could go on an on about Lee, or talk about Steve Dikto or Jack Kirby or any of the others who made it possible, but it was Stan Lee who, more than anyone else realized that vision.

The best thing you could do to honour his memory is to read those comics. He’d want you to!
