Sandy and Global Warming

If you rely on the weather networks or the 24-7 media, you might be under the impression that the number of storms battering us is on the rise. Strangely enough, that isn’t true. While the ferocity of those storms is certainly increasing, the actual number is more or less the same.

As temperatures in the oceans rise, tropical storms soak up that energy, making themselves a great deal more intense. (Ironically, in other parts, this makes the winter storms that much colder too).
